Dengan mayoritas penduduk beragama Islam, jaminan halal menjadi pertimbangan penting dalam ketersediaan produk dan keputusan pembelian konsumen. Namun, halal tidak hanya berkaitan dengan bahan-bahan yang digunakan. Halal juga berkaitan dengan konsep <em>thayyib,<\/em>yang mencakup kebersihan, keamanan, kemurnian, proses pengadaan bahan baku, serta manfaat suatu produk. Oleh karena itu, konsumen membutuhkan jaminan bahwa produk yang mereka gunakan tidak hanya halal, tetapi juga aman dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka.<\/p>\n<p>Kepercayaan konsumen terhadap produk halal juga dipengaruhi oleh sertifikasi dan logo halal. Keduanya membantu konsumen mengidentifikasi produk yang memenuhi persyaratan halal dan meningkatkan keyakinan mereka saat melakukan pembelian. Faktor lain, seperti persepsi terhadap status kehalalan produk, tingkat religiositas, karakteristik produk, keamanan, dan kebersihan, juga dapat memengaruhi keputusan pembelian. Dengan demikian, sertifikasi halal bukan sekadar persyaratan regulasi, tetapi juga merupakan sarana penting untuk membangun kepercayaan konsumen.<\/p>\n<p>Pasar halal Indonesia juga tercermin dari meningkatnya jumlah peluncuran produk baru dengan klaim halal. Jumlah varian produk meningkat dari 715 pada tahun 2021 menjadi 7.955 pada tahun 2025, atau naik sekitar 1.013%. Menurut <em>State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) Report 2025\/2026<\/em>, Indonesia menempati peringkat keempat dalam Global Islamic Economy Indicator (GIEI), yang mengukur kekuatan ekosistem ekonomi Islam global. Perkembangan ini menunjukkan besarnya potensi pasar halal Indonesia sekaligus menegaskan pentingnya memperkuat ekosistem dan daya saing industri.<\/p>\n<p>Berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia Nomor 42 Tahun 2024, kategori produk tertentu wajib memenuhi ketentuan sertifikasi halal paling lambat 17 Oktober 2026, termasuk produk makanan dan minuman dari usaha mikro dan kecil (UMK). Peraturan tersebut juga mewajibkan pelaku usaha mencantumkan produk dan bahan yang digunakan dalam proses sertifikasi, sebagaimana dinyatakan dalam Pasal 67 ayat (2) huruf c. Berdasarkan Pasal 70 ayat (1), produk dan bahan tersebut harus memenuhi persyaratan halal serta didukung oleh Sertifikat Halal, dengan memperhatikan pengecualian yang berlaku. Hal ini menjadikan pemeriksaan status halal bahan baku sebagai langkah penting dalam pengembangan produk. Aspek ini sangat penting terutama saat menggunakan bahan alami, karena bahan alami tidak selalu berstatus halal. Status kehalalannya bergantung pada sumber bahan, metode pengolahan, serta bahan lain yang digunakan. Oleh karena itu, perusahaan perlu memverifikasi status halal setiap bahan yang digunakan dan memperoleh dokumen pendukung yang diperlukan dari pemasok.<\/p>\n<p>Mempertimbangkan persyaratan halal sejak tahap awal pengembangan produk membantu perusahaan mempersiapkan proses sertifikasi dengan lebih baik. Memilih pemasok bahan baku yang dapat menyediakan bahan bersertifikat halal merupakan bagian penting dari proses tersebut.
